Hi everyone!

As part of my photography course, I have to track my development on a blog. The posts from September 2011 until January 2012 are part of a module called Project Management, for which I was required to work in a group of eight students to create an exhibition. The blog followed every step we took in order to create a successful gallery. The blog posts starting from September 2012 follow my final year on the course. I'll be documenting my research and analysis of my final year projects, as well as include notes of my Professional Practice unit - which prepares us for a range of post graduate options. Finally it also looks at a project called New Creatives, where I'll be working alongside an artists to help college students get more involved with art.

Noodle Night Market

I have never lived in such a large city before and I absolutely love it. Something new happens every day, and in Melbourne people like their food.

Way back in November there was a Noodle Night Market. It was along the Yarra River in Alexandra Gardens and was open for two weeks. There were about 25 different food stalls, a selection of bars and entertainment. The place was lit up beautifully with rainbow coloured lights in the palm trees. To get the real Asian feel, there were also a bunch of lanterns which created a great atmosphere.

Although you're in the middle of a city, the gardens feel miles away from everything. It's strange to see the buildings surrounding the park.

The market started off in Sydney and moved to Melbourne this year for the first time. It was a great success and an average of 20000 customers came every night!! It was absolutely packed, the first time I went was quite early, right as it opened so it wasn't very busy, but also not very atmospheric. The second time we went a lot later, and although it was incredibly busy and queues everywhere, it was a great experience.

The Noodle Night Market will return again this year!
